Medicals & X-rays
It is important to check if
you need a Medical or Chest X-ray as part of your visa application. If
you are currently in New Zealand any registered doctor will be able to
help you.
If you are living outside of New Zealand it is important that
you visit a doctor that has been certified by the New Zealand
Immigration Service.
1.
If you intend to be in NZ for
less than 6 months you are NOT
required to submit a Medical and X-ray certificate or Temporary Entry
X-ray Certificate.
2. If you
intend to be in NZ for more than 6 months and up to 1 year and:

You do NOT
hold a passport from a country area of territory listed below; or
-
In the 5 years
prior to your application, you have spent (lived in and/or visited)
a combined total of three months or more in any countries, areas or
territories NOT listed in
the table below,

If you intend to be in NZ for more
than 12 months you must
submit a Medical and Chest X-ray certificate.
NOTE:
Pregnant woman and children under 11 years are not required to have an
X-ray examination.
